Availability vs. Self-Centeredness
Making my own schedule and priorities
secondary to the wishes of those I serve.
Availability in the home includes:
· Family memebers doing what would
please the other when spending time together.
· Putting aside personal hobbies when
they conflict with family time.
· Stopping in the middle of a project to
hear what another family member has to say.
· Changing plans with friends in order
to help the family prepare for guests.
I
will...
· put others ahead of myself.
· find a way to help, not a way to
hide.
· be ready when I’m called.
· be gload for the chance to serve.
· check with the right person before I
make commitments.
Rewards of Availability
Abundance
The success of those whom you help
will spill back into your own life.
Stability
Families who place priority on each
others’ needs foster an atmosphere of peace in the home. This peace gives a
family stability in hard times.
"He gives too late
who waits to be asked." – Latin proverb
