Six Questions about Prayer

  1. What is prayer?
    • Communication with God. (Heb. 4:14-16)
  2. What are the requirements to pray?
    • Receiving Jesus into our lives as Lord and Savior. (John 14:6)
    • A clean heart . (Psalm 66:18)
    • A Forgiving spirit. (Mark 11:25)
    • A Believing heart. (Matt. 21:22 9:29)
  3. Why are we to pray?
    • It is a command:
      1. Watch and pray. (Luke 21:36 Mark 14:38)
      2. Pray with thanksgiving. (Phil. 4:6 Col. 4:2)
      3. Pray in the Spirit. (I Cor. 14:15)
      4. Pray without giving up. (Luke 18:1)
    • It is a fellowship with God.
  4. To whom do we pray?
    • Pray to the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. Both Jesus and the Holy Spirit will intercede for us. (Rom. 8:34, 26-27)
  5. When should we pray?
    • Pray continually. (I Thess. 5:17)
  6. What should we inclue in our prayer?
    • (A)doration. (John 4:23-24 Heb. 12:28)
    • (C)onfession. (I John 1:7-9)
    • (T)hanksgiving. (I Thess. 5:18)
